Pastor - John Davies

Our Pastor, John Davies, has been here since February 1991. Having studied at Aberystwyth and Cardiff, he was ordained into the ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Wales (Calvinistic Methodists) in 1964. He was also married the same year to Joan. Before their marriage Joan had studied at Ridgelands Bible College (Kent), and worked as a Sister of the people for the Forward Movement - the Home Mission branch of the denomination - where she gained valuable experience in the church. They have three children and seven grandchildren.  He started his ministry in Swansea, and in 1971 withdrew from the denomination(the failure of the denomination to uphold the Confession of Faith) with the congregation at Clydach and formed Bethel Evangelical Church. In 1979 he received a call to the pastorate of Peniel Evangelical Church, Maesteg, where he remained until his move to Flint, North Wales in 1991.

He has been closely involved throughout his ministry with the Evangelical Movement of Wales, having served on various committees. In addition, he has served as Chairman of the Associating Evangelical Churches of Wales, of which the church is a member.

He enjoys spending time with his family and lists sport amongst his interests, supporting Everton in football and Wales in rugby and he also plays a little golf - badly!
